Role:
As an Administrative Assistant for TDS, you are the link that keeps the different roles within the company connected and working coherently.
Your main duties include:
Accounts Receivables
Update forms and procedures
Calendar management
Go-to for technical issues (expert IT is available for difficult ones)
Client file management (opening and closing)
First point of contact for prospects
Phone and email management
Admin for group insurance
Location of the job is SE Calgary.
This is a full time permanent position with an average yearly salary between $47,000 and $52,000. Long term applicants only please.
Trusted Divorce Services is growing and we’re expanding our team. If you are an experienced legal assistant or a paralegal who loves helping people finalize their divorce amicably and affordably, and have some experience with wills drafting, you will love this opportunity.
You would be an excellent fit if you:
- Are enthusiastic about no-lawyer legal support
- Are comfortable working without lawyer supervision

- Comfortable with technology and enjoy learning new programs and computer tools

- Available between 9 and 5 on weekdays.
Technical qualifications required for this position:
- Extensive experience in family law, divorce, and matrimonial property division
- Extensive experience in Wills and Estate
- Confidence and expertise in managing files independently and without the supervision of a lawyer
- Excellence at writing and editing court material
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office in general
- Friendly and Experienced in interacting with clients on the phone and in person
- Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and staying organized
- Family Mediation knowledge or experience is an asset
Job Duties:
- Collect and organize clients’ financial disclosure
- Analyze disclosure based on the Alberta Matrimonial Act and Child/Spousal Support Guidelines
- Draft court documents such as affidavits, consent orders, and uncontested divorce applications
- Draft Wills, Personal Directives, and Power of Attorneys
- Assist in matrimonial property mediations
- Meet with clients to collect information and commission documents
- Other duties to assist the team and support the mediator and CEO.

Through Trusted Divorce Services’ Constructive Divorce mediation process, we have assisted hundreds of clients divorce amicably and constructively. We are growing, and looking for team members to join us on our mission.
To be successful in this role, it’s essential that you are committed to our mission and aligned with our values and culture. You also must have mediation experience for at least 3 years, and are comfortable conducting family mediations dealing with issues such as, matrimonial property, parenting, spousal and child support.
Attitude and Skills Requirements:
Post secondary degree
Mediation training, preferably in interest-based mediation
Empathetic listener. Exposure to divorce either through personal experiences or previous work
Familiar with the Divorce Act, and the Alberta Family Property Act
Strong and confident communicator and has an ability to connect with the clients
Excellent writing skills
Financial Acumen is an asset
Punctual, positive, and have strong verbal and written communication skills
A great team player who has zero tolerance for drama
Desire to learn, grow, develop and spend a good chunk of time learning family law and the division of matrimonial property.
